I feel grateful every day to get to inspire students through music.

I started my teaching journey in 2016 in Decorah, Iowa, and I am currently teaching students out of my home studio in Louisville, Colorado. I view my role as an educator not only as a means to impart musical knowledge but also as an opportunity to cultivate discipline, creativity, emotional expression, and patience in my students. I teach a wide range of ages and abilities, and I strive to have each student learn a blend of structured/traditional pieces and the music that inspires them. There is no greater joy than witnessing my students play at a recital, knowing that I have supported them throughout their learning journey and encouraged them to do their best!

Take lessons with me!

I recently started an Etsy shop with affordable, kid-friendly worksheets and resources to help students with note naming, rhythms, practice motivation, and more! You will also find my compositions and beginner/intermediate arrangements in my Etsy shop.

  • Every new student may schedule a free 30 minute consultation with me at my studio (located in downtown Louisville CO). During this time, we’ll discuss your experience, your goals, materials you will need for lessons, and studio rules. This is a great chance for you to get comfortable with my studio space, and to get a glimpse of what piano lessons with me will look like.

I am currently at full capacity and not scheduling new trials. To get on my waiting list, please send me an email at cjhpianoteacher@gmail.com.

  • I offer 30, 45, and 60 minute lessons, at the following rates:

    • $50 for 30 minutes

    • $65 for 45 minutes

    • $80 for 60 minutes

These prices are for weekly lessons. Due to the demand in my schedule, I do not offer lessons every other week. However, adult students who need more flexibility may choose to purchase a pack of lessons, to be scheduled at your convenience.

Please email me at cjhpianoteacher@gmail.com with any further questions.

  • Every student learns so differently, so I vary my approach in order to make the most progress with each individual. However, if you’ve never taken a piano lesson before, here is what you can expect:

    • Warm up exercises and scales to build strength and technique

    • In-depth instruction to help you with your current pieces

    • Focus on music theory through the use of worksheets and books

    • Discussion of your concerns, desires, and future goals

  • Send me an email at cjhpianoteacher@gmail.com to inquire about my availability or to get on my waiting list.
